To Love Again

He promised himself to love again
with all that was left
of his broken heart.
He knew it wouldn't be easy
but by now he knew that
life was never easy anyways.
The anchors of broken promises,
the lost dreams weighed heavily
oh his shoulders,his soul faltered.
Some nights he would blame himself
for overlooking the signs.
Was he too naive? or
too meekly drunk in love.
Oh love, thy merciless wrath
took away his loving soul.
Everything that was left of him now
was broken-cold,cold-distant .
Promises and dreams of bygones laying
amass the boulders of broken heart.

Then came she,another broken soul.
Unlike him she still weaved
her dreams from the finest threads.
Loving again can feel weary ;difficult
but there's never an impossible love.
And there's no greater love
than to love again.
He became her rock, she
his dreamcatcher .He healed her
and she became his lullaby.
He promised himself to love again.
He promised her that he would
forget his past, shed his apprehension.
And in return she promised
to wait, to forge their dreams together.

To the boy who's being meticulously cautious,
for all the time you let
the grip of past grow stronger
you only keep her waiting longer.
Love is but letting your guards
down in hope of finding
something wonderful.Why hope?
Because while there's life,there's hope.
Your past was unfair and
fear of deja vu brilliantly reasonable.
But should the fear of past
determine thy future's  felicity.
To feel loved is one's basic right
don't deprive yourself of
the la dolce vita .
and when everything else withers;
only love will keep you alive.
