SLIPPERS......

Has it ever happened to you that you drift off on puzzles and mysteries of things you will never have an answer to no matter how much you rack your brains and pull your hair? And what more infuriating is that the matter is least enigmatic and connected in anyway to the important and more profound things at hand at that time. If it did happen to you ,you would comprehend  with me and if not you would tag me a lunatic. I guess thats a risk I would have to take. So coming back to the topic....

The sun was ablaze with years of wisdom and knowledge of the truth , the clouds like petals were scattered in the vast ocean of sky and mere mortal like me we were already running out of energy . It was a typical monday morning . And getting to the quintessential part, I was freaking late for my class. As I was running the bollywood Sharukh Khan style my controversial mongoloid eyes caught a glimpse of those perky emerald green slippers. Thanks to my bollywood running style I managed to get inside the class. ( If you guys have any other actors and actresses in mind who can run fast in their queer style please intimate me , it will save my ass from getting screwed by the professors.)

The class started in monotony and 15 minutes  later I was dozing off and my friends were trying to keep me awake.  Out of nowhere those damned wretched slippers popped into my mind. Now all of you very well know mind cant  be caged so the train of thoughts took off. What struck me was those  almost emerald like green and tiny elephant prints all over which was almost cute . I say almost cute because it was covered in  mud that had cracks now and recalling the size it had to belong to a kid of 6-8 years old. Now who in their rightful mind would leave the slippers there. I would understand if one of the pair was broken or the other pair was missing but except for the dried mud it was a perfectly good pair of slippers.  My rusted mind couldn't even come to a conclusion if it belonged to girl or boy, that colour you see was one of that unisex thingy. Now what did the kid think leaving those slippers there? He/she had to be alone because no senior would have partnered in such a scene. It must be one of the patients that came to our college for treatment and these patients you see they were not financially stable. So what did that kid think?  I have seen kids roam barefooted in the streets who would do anything to have a decent pair of slippers for even a day. These kid's sole become so thick they hardly feel the scorching heat of the earth as if the ever merciful earth took pity on them and and shielded their feet from the heat it soaked from above . But sometimes even after mother earth's mercy you cant miss the pangs of pain in those innocent uncorrupt soul and their eyes if u watch closely almost asking you why them and why not you. And at moments like those you feel karma  punishing you for your sins. What would happen if one of those barefooted kids found this slippers ? Would they steal them ? Sell them to get some extra bucks for dinner? You sees there are these endless possibilities and they were flashing through my mind then the thought struck me . May be maybe one of  the child's relative was ill and maybe as a barter to his/her relative's health the child gave up his most prized possession his slippers whilst bargaining his ways to supreme above. The Kid knew every mile that he treads from now on would be painful but at least he would go back to bed content knowing his/ her relative is alive and safe. This could again be one of the many possibilities . My thoughts disengaged as I heard the teacher leave and crowd of white aprons move about; the class was over. Just as the thought had come ; it left too quitely without my notice .
A week later it rained heavily all through the night and just as I was going off to sleep those slippers crept up in my mind slowly yet steadily.Maybe they were gone, maybe the owner had come back for them or maybe someone had stolen them was all I could think . Next morning I made a point to go see them and guess what they were there . Rain had washed the mud away and now the slipper looked almost new and those prints they weren't elephants but turtles . My sight grazed my wrist and my heart almost caught in my throat. I was 10 minutes late again and I ran off to class this time Krish ( Hrithik roshan)  style .Sometimes  my mind drifts off again to those slippers and I ponder about its owner, his/her life and what must have become of those  emerald slippers because the next time I went there it was missing and the grasses now occupied its place .
Those slippers had disturbed me for so long now after writing about it I feel a bit at ease, content. I am done now you readers can tag me anything , it wont bother me :) Thanks for your patience and time ;)
