HIM and HER

Not many street lights were on that night. The streetlights almost vintage shone out a dull yellow light underneath and under the dimmest of lights stood SHE. Who's  she now you might wonder. Well She is the inspiration of my blog today . She isn't not the brightest person I have met and  in fact foolish enough to get cheated for her compassion and easy trust in others. That particular night she wore a frilled white shirt tucked in a lemon yellow midi skirt which had water melon print all over . The smile she had was one you couldn't forget easily and surprisingly her smile outshone the light overhead. Why was she smiling? If sources was to be believed she was finally going to be proposed by  her man tonight. Her man  ,she  trailed off to 7 years ago .......

It probably was love at first sight or else how could they get into  relationship only after two weeks of knowing each other  . He wasn't the best looking guy or the smartest guy but  that hardly bothered her because she found in him an unrelenting comfort and an uncorrupted innocence. It was in their mid teens that they met and promised to love one another for infinite infinities. No they didn't think alike and didn't have much in common except that they were simple people and loved each other despite their differences. As a girl she had her own share of  inhibitions,doubts and fears but  that day she saw  her fears and inhibitions uncloak . It was one week after the not so eventful awkward proposal ....... 

                           
                                      Now the school they were in had an inter school swimming competition  so classes were dismissed and vacations followed soon after much to the dismay of the new couple . Now this swimming pool happened to be very close to girls hostel where she stayed. And this guy he somehow managed to get into the swimming team of their school and trust me he was no swimmer in fact he could hardly swim . He prayed the whole night  for a glance of his girl  and his prayers were to be answered soon. He was standing near the pool searching for her and after what seemed to him like a century she emerged out in the balcony , his girl; he smiled she smiled . The hours long standing in sun seemed worthwhile and suddenly the heat didn't seem to bother him at all.

She on the other hand had no clue about him being on the school team because she knew her man was no michael phelp so she hadn't bothered coming out at all but all her friends had been nagging her to come out and be a sport and cheer the school team. When she came to the balcony she saw him and time suddenly stood still.  If eyes could kill she would be dead right then, later that's what she told. She looked into his eyes and she knew everything would be different from then on . She found all the love thats there in the world she had been searching for all this  time right there .  She saw Sunrise and  sunset in those eyes and that his heart was now hers to keep forever till the end of time . And she smiled in promise to love him back with everything she has and everything she will ever be. To this day she argues that that was first time she fell for him. And rest they say is history...........

                                                                                                       

                                                                                             Nearby a car screeched and faint barking of dogs brought her back to present. She felt emotions wash through her and she smiled but what was taking him so long?  It was half and hour past their rendezvous but she didn't feel anger today but yes she would nag him  later , she chuckled. She felt  someone behind her and the footsteps gave him away. And in her stomach suddenly hundreds of butterflies flapped their wings all at once and she started fidgeting with her hair. She turned and saw him there with his adorable crooked smile . Why did he smile? she thought.  Now she couldn't scold him  for making her wait not now when he  looked so stupid with that smile. She broke in smile herself and thanked heavens for him , for them.  "Now my dear ,Shall we ? " he asked almost apologetically for he knew he had made her wait . Later  I will make it up to you, he murmured under his breath.  As they walked hand in hand towards the car with a new promise and probably a new life the light above flickered until there was complete darkness all round .... 

I leave the rest of my story to the imagination of you guys .:)  And yes you would have probably wanted to know what happened to him at the swimming competition. Well she tells Michael phelp would kill himself him he saw him swim  that day but he likes to think otherwise.  What actually happened was after swimming for about 5 minutes when he finally stopped to catch a breath he saw he was still at the start line . :)
